One, two, three..

Well, we're not sure how or when he learned this, but Sorin can count to 10 and loves to count things! The results aren't always accurate, but it's too cute. In this picture he's counting the cans of kitty food that Dada bought. And below he's taking part in a favorite activity, "watch kitty dat eat." The language develpment continues to amaze me, and it makes interactions so much more exciting--and often unexpected! When I read "Hop on Pop" to Sorin I say "We are all small" is a very high, cutesy voice. Yesterday I left off the last word for Sorin to fill in and he says "small" in exactly the same tone I usually use. He continues to love his books and asks for and/or identifies them by name. Current hits are "Barnyard Dance" and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie."

"I got it!"

This week Sorin started using the first person. He said, "I pet kitty cat." He also said, "I pooped!", which he had (hooray!). Last night he was playing with an empty box as a hat. When it fell off he kept saying, "I got it" and put it back on his head. All this talking is very exciting. Sorin continues to like to climb into cozy spaces, as evidenced by the picture of him in a bowl:).

Thadeous went to Pennsylvania for Superbowl, and Sorin was quite disappointed to be left behind. When Dada wasn't there in the morning he put on his shoes, pulled his coat off the hook, and said, "Nonno Nonna car." I was amazed that he'd put together the fact that Thadeous had gone to see Nonno and Nonna in the car! While Thadeous was away Sorin and I went to a party to celebrate and remember Aunt Lollo. There were enticing things everywhere for Sorin to touch, and it was very nice to see the family. Here is a picture of Sorin with Ann Sichel--one of the last remaining members of that generation.
